Candy Hughes Memorial Kids Fund: Caroline (Candy) Hughes was for many years the principal in charge of the National Clearinghouse for Child Abuse and Neglect. She was also co-author of "Emerging Practices in the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect', published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2003. The Candy Hughes Memorial Kids Fund will continue Candy's work by providing for the special needs of children in Cope's client families and supporting in-service training for professionals in the child-welfare field.

Give through your workplace: by designating Cope Family Center through your workplace giving campaign. Ask you employer about participating!

Matching Gifts
Check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company has a matching gift program. Your donation to Cope may be matched by your employer after the gift is made and the proper paperwork completed.

Gifts of Stock
Making a gift or fulfilling a pledge through a transfer of stock is often very advantageous from a tax point of view, especially if you own appreciated stocks. By making a gift of stock directly to a charitable organization, you can avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of the stocks, and will also realize an income tax deduction in the amount of the stock’s fair market value on the date of the gift. Each individual’s tax situation is different, so you should consult a tax advisor about the best way to make a charitable gift. To get more information about the process, please contact the Development Department.
