Screening of resilience: The biology of stress & the science of hope
Date & Time: Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 9:30am-11:30am
Location: Napa County Health & Human Services, 2751 Napa Valley Corporate Drive Bldg. A
Details: This screening chronicles the promising beginnings of a national movement to prevent childhood trauma, treat toxic stress, and improve the health of future generations. Childhood trauma and toxic stress are now linked to being one of the leading causes of health problems, mental health, and substance abuse. However, as experts and practitioners profiled in Resilience are proving what's predictable is preventable!
This event is designed for social service providers, educators, childcare providers, organizational leaders, health professionals, and mentors to better understand the impact of toxic stress caused by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they can take an active role in building resilience in their home, workplace and the larger community.
This event is free, but attendees must register here. Space is limited.
Holiday Glam & Giving 2017 (Cancelled)
Due to the Napa Complex Fires that have devastated our community, Holiday Glam & Giving 2017, originally scheduled for Sunday, December 3rd, has been cancelled. We are heartbroken that many of our beloved guests and supporters have been directly impacted by the fires and understand that this is a sensitive time for all.
Additionally, Cope Family Center continues to have an important role in the fire relief and recovery efforts. While we are sad to not kick off the holidays with our festive event, we feel that it is important to focus our staff, volunteer and financial resources towards meeting the needs of our community in whatever capacity we can.
Donor & Volunteer Appreciation Block Party 2017
Every September we host our annual Donor & Volunteer Appreciation Block Party. This last September's event was one for the books! The evening was hosted by Napa River Inn and The General Store, with a delicious three pasta dinner from General Store followed by delectable dessert from Sweetie Pies. We enjoyed sharing an evening full of food, fun carnival games and prizes, music, dancing and great friends. Though there is no way for us to truly thank all of our amazing donors and volunteers, we hope that this small celebration helped to show our true appreciation.
