Resilient Napa, a project of Cope Family Center, is presenting a screening of Resilience, an eye-opening documentary that looks into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the movement to treat and prevent toxic stress. The film will be followed by a presentation by Dr. Flojaune Cofer, exploring the topic of ACEs, Race, and Health Equity. The Courage Center is excited to share that as part of the upcoming Child Abuse Prevention Month / Blue Ribbon Month the center is holding a preventative workshop in Spanish on Thursday, April 11th from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. In efforts to reach out to the majority of a demographic served by the Courage Center last year were the workshop is targeted at primarily Spanish-speaking families.
The workshop is in coordination with the CAPC theme “ Speak out, I’m listening”. The Courage Center’s workshop is titled "Listening to parents" A guide to manage stress when disciplining your children and preventing child abuse in the home.

Join Cope Family Center, the lead agency of the Child Abuse Prevention Council, in receiving a proclamation from the Napa County Board of Supervisors declaring April 2019 as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. The meeting will be held at 1195 Third Street, Suite 305, Napa.
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Cope Family Center, the lead agency for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Napa County (CAPC), is kicking off a month-long awareness campaign with an emotional display and short ceremony at Napa City Hall. The community is invited to attend the public ceremony on Thursday, April 4, 4:00-5:00 to learn more about the issue of child abuse and demonstrate their commitment to keeping children safe.
