Celebrating Program Graduates from a Distance

In early August, we graduated 6 families from the Parents As Teachers Home Visiting Program. Because of COVID we couldn't throw our usual graduation party at Cope. Instead, we put together a graduation caravan to surprise all the kids at their homes while socially distancing. Each kid got a special gift basket of goodies to celebrate them and prepare them for their first year of kindergarten!

Families usually start in this program when mom is pregnant and we continue working with them until the child starts kindergarten. The home visitors meet with each family regularly to teach the parents about their child's development and provide guidance and resources to the family whenever needed. This unique program helps to ensure that all of these kids grow up in the best environments possible, preparing them for school and building their life-long resilience.

We are so proud of all of the families and we are glad we could still celebrate this milestone during these unprecedented times.

This multi-year program is free for every family that participates thanks to the funding provided by Auction Napa Valley, the County of Napa and generous community support. We thank all of our funders and donors for making this work possible.
