Meet the Board Series

Kathy Glass, Board Vice President

We want you to get to know those who are dedicating their time and expertise to leading our organization and furthering our mission. To achieve that, we’ll be introducing you to one member every month. Last month we introduced you to our Board President Judith Myers. If you missed it, you can get to know her here. This month we would like to introduce you to Kathy Glass, our Board Vice President. To help you get to know her we asked her about what brought her to Cope, why she believes Cope’s mission is important and what she hopes to achieve in her time on the Board.

When asked what brought Kathy to Cope, she shared, “I was introduced to Cope through Leadership Napa Valley. I had the good fortune of being assigned to Cope for a day of Health and Human Services. This allowed me to "ride along" with Colleen Masi for a day and do home visits with the Home Visiting Programs. Upon seeing all the good offered to young families I was hooked and knew I had to do what I could to make sure this valuable service was offered to our communities.”

Since then her commitment to strengthening families has continued in her years as a volunteer, Board Member, donor and advocate. “As stated in our mission, the services we offer to parents can only improve the strength of our community through education, resources and support. This in turn empowers parents to nurture their children in ways that can only strengthen the community.”

Her goals for her time on the board are to strengthen Cope’s sustainability so that we can continue to be a pillar of support to children and families. “I want to do everything I possibly can to keep this organization offering services to our communities now and into the future.”

From the very beginning of Kathy’s time working with Cope, she has been a strong ambassador for getting others involved in our important work. “Don't just take my word for it. Come see for yourself (when we are allowed) everything Cope Family Center does for the residents of our community. It doesn't matter what your socio-economic background is because at some point most every family needs help in some way.”

You can hear more from Kathy in this video interview featured in our 2017 Impact Report.
