Teacher's Aide for Parenting Classes

Teacher’s Aide for Parenting Classes

Support our Parent Educators during a multi-week session of parenting classes. Shadow the classes, take notes and help the parent educators with administrative tasks throughout each class. Great opportunity to learn more about service work and working with parents and families. Also has the opportunity to shadow other programs at Cope.

Frequency: Quarterly (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall)

Schedule: All parenting classes are currently held virtually in the evenings 6:30-8:00pm, so must be available to shadow those classes. Other administrative work can be done in other hours that work well for you and the parent educator(s). Shadowing of other programs would need to be during business hours.

Skills Needed: Bilingual preferred but not required. Ideal for a current student or professional pursuing a career in social services or someone who has experience in a teaching setting and who has a passion for helping families. Administrative tasks include data entry, note taking, Zoom facilitation and more.

Support Provided to Volunteers: Volunteers will be trained for each task they are asked to support with. Staff support will be available ongoing throughout the session to answer questions and reflect.

*Volunteers will need to sign a confidentiality agreement since you’ll be seeing supporter contact information. We will also need to run a background check (standard for most volunteer opportunities).
