Cope's October 2022 Newsletter

HELLO!

Happy fall! Now that the giving season has officially begun, I want to express my gratitude to you and all of Cope's clients, volunteers, donors, and staff. Each member of this community helps us realize Cope's mission to empower parents, nurture children, and strengthen communities. We appreciate you!

While autumn is a time of gratitude, giving, and abundance, the holiday season is also a time of increased struggle for many families in our community. Cope will continue to support parents and children by providing vital services like crisis support and emergency resources. Thank you for helping us make this work possible.

Below you'll find more updates about the current happenings at Cope and some ways to get involved. Wishing you and your family much joy and fun this season!

Gratefully,
Michele

Hope's Chest Fashion Show

Join us October 15th for a unique fashion show where you steal the jewelry, accessories and purses you want right off the models! Hope's Chest curates a selection of one-of-a-kind vintage and new pieces to help you stand out.

Your door donation and a portion of the sales will benefit Cope Family Center's child abuse prevention and family strengthening services. Hope's Chest founder, Iren Jenny, holds Cope's mission to protect children close to her heart. She invites you to help make a difference in the lives of Napa Valley's children and families by shopping for a cause.

Join us Saturday, October 15th at 2pm for this exciting event!

Home Visiting: Cristina's Story

Cristina and her family entered Cope’s Home Visiting program when she was a young, pregnant, first-time mom. Our Home Visiting program is one of our most intensive services that supports families from pregnancy until the child enters kindergarten. The pictures above are from when her family graduated from the program last year when her son, Jesus, was 4 years old.

We checked in with Cristina earlier this year to see how kindergarten was for her son, Jesus. Mom was happy to report that she felt Jesus was "well-prepared for school, and that watching him learn so quickly has been so much fun!"

Support Squad Open House

In celebration of the two year anniversary of launching our Support Squad, we were joined by our monthly donors on September 15th for a tour of our center, followed by a social featuring wine and appetizers. Our monthly donors help make our work possible, and we couldn't be more grateful!

The Support Squad, Cope's monthly giving club, supports Cope's mission to protect Napa Valley's children and give them brighter futures. The monthly gifts of the Support Squad help fund programs that provide crisis support, teach parents how to best support their child's development, and help families get through tough times by providing resources like diapers, wipes, and gift cards.

Thank you to our Support Squad for helping us support parents, protect children, and strengthen families. We couldn't do this without you!

FREE Discussion Groups for Parents Now Enrolling!

Our fall discussion groups are enrolling right now and will take place in November and December. Discussion Groups are free, single-topic sessions meant to help you deal with specific issues. These groups can help you with commonly encountered problems like disobedience, fighting and aggression, family conflict, and coping with teenagers' emotions. Please share with anyone who you think might be interested in getting free support with their parenting challenges!
