Cope's June 2023 Newsletter

HELLO!

In just a few short weeks it will be officially summer, and with this beautiful weather have come some exciting changes here at Cope! With the increasing needs of the families in our community, we have been growing our team to provide more support for the children and families who rely on Cope's services. You can read more about our newest staff members and Board member below.

As the school year comes to a close and children are off for the summer, we will continue to be a place of respite and support for Napa's families. Thank you for all your support!

Gratefully,
Michele

In this issue:

  • Welcoming Eduardo and Tami! Meet our new Family Engagement Program Manager and Family Support Specialist.

  • Meet Juliane Veselik, Cope's newest Board member.

  • Thank you to our business partners!

Welcome Eduardo and Tami!

Eduardo Rivera joins Cope's team as the new Family Engagement Program Manager. "For the past 10 years (and counting), my jobs have involved helping those in my community. I hope to continue this passion of mine at Cope Family Center. My ideal world would be where my community is thriving and healthy. I whole-heartedly believe this is possible and Cope has a crucial role in providing safe spaces where families can learn or further enforce their ability to thrive and live out their healthiest lives."

Tami Ortega is Cope's newest Family Support Specialist joining the Home Visiting Program. "After nearly a decade of working with Resource (Foster) Families and the children under their care, I wanted to work with young families to provide the type of support that all the kiddos on my caseload over the years and their families would have benefited from. All families deal with stress and hard times. It is a gift to be able to help reduce harm to these families."

Juliane Veselik Elected to Cope’s Board

We are excited to welcome Juliane Veselik to Cope's Board! Juliane has fourteen years of experience in banking, specializing in Wealth management and Trust, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Management from University of Portland. She currently serves as Vice President, Senior Trust Officer at Bank of Marin and will bring her robust wealth management and private banking experience to the Board.

“As a mother of a second grader in the Napa community, I understand how difficult it is to raise a child. I have every opportunity available to me, a supportive husband, and grandparents that are local, and it can still be challenging. I am excited to make an impact on local families in our community and to contribute to the Board in a meaningful way.”

Thank You to Our Business Partners

Part of what makes this community so special is how community members, businesses and organizations all come together to build a strong and resilient community for children and families. We want to recognize the generous support of these community partners for helping further Cope's mission of empowering parents, nurturing children and strengthening our community. We couldn’t do this work without you!
